Providing Support for Success
Our programs help empower local kids to cultivate a love of learning, become good stewards of the community and build a positive outlook on life rooted in self-esteem and self-respect.
Summer Program
A summer enrichment program for kids in the Union Square Community that includes character development activities, field trips, academic enrichment, arts and crafts, games and–most importantly–lots of fun. The program is supported by local businesses, churches and organizations and are led by volunteers. Middle school students can participate in a lawn care work program and learn additional life skills.
Mowing Program
The Mowing Program gives students the opportunity to mow yards in the surrounding Union Square neighborhood. This service provides them a way to raise money for their 8th grade trip to Washington DC, an experience that might otherwise be unavailable to them due to financial limitations. An opportunity to work hard and make a difference in their own future has proved to be an effective way to build confidence and self-reliance.
Step Up
Step Up provides after school homework help, nourishment and encouragement to Claggett Middle School students.
